Hot Hot Hot*
My day wasn’t actually all that hot, I’m just still listening/singing/dancing to my favourite song from the Polar Express. HOT HOT HOT! Today I enjoyed a nice late sleep in and then spent a very lazy morning, and DANG it felt good. I did do quite a bit of cleaning though, and am not yet finished. My closet has been driving me crazy, especially now that I’ve moved my desk into the bedroom and have to look at it every time I’m in here. So, I took the whole thing apart, cleaned it, and redid it. It looks much better. And I was even ruthless and chose 6 pairs of…

Polar Express*
I am in love with this movie. The Hubster and I just had a date night and watched it together, and it’s SO good. Mind you, I’m very biased toward Tom Hanks, he is positively my favourite actor. But in general I love cute little movies like that– especially Christmas ones. My siblings and I used to wait ALL year for the Christmas specials to come on TV, then we would highlight them in the TV guide, and make sure that there was NOTHING in the way of our watching them. I recall skipping Brownies a few times so that I could stay home to watch! haha It’s so different…

Catching Up*
I’ve learned over the past 2 years that I am not really a “phone” person. This actually distresses me because I’ve become more comfortable talking to people over the internet and I often shy away from making phone calls. It really needs to stop… the internet is so impersonal and I hate using it. It’s just so dang convenient! So when I finally do get on the phone with people they seem to be marathon phone calls… but there is one person that I could talk to all flippin’ night on the phone and it never gets dull (besides my hubby), and that’s my Telly. Telly and I have one…

I had ambitious academic plans–studying English Literature and Political Science I planned to go to law school, and marriage was not even on my radar. I had a new boyfriend every week (I was…

Shop Girl*
Well, it’s all over. No more essays or exams for at least a month. I thought that I would feel elated at the thought, but I mostly feel tired. I’ll be excited tomorrow. :) So I thought I’d explain why I chose “Shop Girl” as my name for my blogging. I’ve had a few people ask me why I haven’t used one of my personal and more colourful nicknames that I have, so let’s review. Most nicknames that I’ve been called actually include my first, last or maiden name, so those were immediately out because I want to keep this free of personal information. So. My other nicknames from past…
