The Light Switch Story*
Meet Spart. Aside from the Hubster, I am now probably closer to her than I am with most people. We talk (on average) about 4 – 5 times a day. Sometimes we don’t even need complete sentences to communicate–we can often understand each other through random word sequences like”la la!”, “bleep bleep bloop” or loud screaming. Don’t ask. haha As close as we are now (cue “Sisters” from White Christmas), we weren’t always that way. In my family there are six children, and Spart and I are smack dab in the middle… and that usually means one of two things: as children, we were either best friends, or frenemies. And…

Getting in Shape*
As you know (if you’ve been reading recently) I’ve starting running on a regular basis in an attempt to force my ol’ body into some kind of shape. I’ve actually had a number of people tell me that they are interested in following my progress and learning about what I’m doing to tone my body and lose weight! Rather than inundating this blog with all that junk, I’ve decided to take up an old blog I started (and stopped) writing a few months ago and write all that stuff there! It’s where I’ll post my progress with running (time and distance), healthy food recipes and ideas, and just other tidbits…

Dear Lilac Dreamer*
This is a response to Lilac Dreamer‘s most recent post. You will note that midway through her post she states the following: “For instance, the fun of the chicken dance has been banned…I know, collective ‘AWWW‘…but what can ya do?” For those of you who do not know what the “Chicken Dance” is, please watch the following video. If you DO know what it is, this video is a clip from the 2003 East Coast Polka Championship Chicken Dance Finals. That’s right. I said Chicken Dance Finals. As in a contest. For Chicken Dancing. If you skipped the video, watch it now. hahahahah Anyway, I digress. If you have read…

I Heart My Shoes*
As you know, I am a bridesmaid in Peeah’s upcoming wedding. So that means… …NEW SHOES! (and new dress. haha) I haven’t splurged and bought new fun shoes in a very long time. I actually saw them months and months ago when I went shopping for formal shoes with Dee. I picked them out for her because I thought they were fun, but unfortunately they were too expensive for my student budget. …until now. :) Two weekends ago the Hubster and I went for a stroll through a mall. There were shoe stores in this mall. I like shoe stores. I like to browse in them. And occasionally, I shop…

Time Flies*
When K tells me it’s time to blog again, I know it’s time. I can’t believe it’s been almost a full week since I’ve written–I don’t think I’ve gone that long without at least posting SOMETHING in a very long time. Well let me catch you up on what has been keeping me so busy! Last weekend I told you that we were up at the Hubster’s parent’s home to celebrate his mom’s birthday! We went on a marvelous adventure out to St. Jacob’s, a tiny town and the home of a group of Mennonite followers. It was beautiful… I definitely want to go back and spend a full day…
