Home Sweet Home*
I’ve been meaning to write this story for a while, but I keep forgetting. The hubs reminded me again recently, so I thought I’d get it down before I forget again. We have a front door to our apartment (as most apartments do) and on this front door, I like to hang things. I think having something nice on your front door makes it all the more inviting, don’t you? Anyway, as we were gathering things to move in together after the wedding, my mother-in-law threw us a wedding shower and gave us a ton of pretty basic things that one might need to start a home. Included among the…

Toilet Talk*
I’d almost forgotten how appreciative I am of what plumbers do. I don’t know if I’ve ever written about my toilet saga… it’s really an exciting story though, and it looks like it’s going to have a REALLY happy ending!! The Hubster and I have pretty much had problems in our bathroom since we moved into our apartment. As you know, we recently had the faucet replaced to our shiny new one that I love! But that was only after we endured a tap that never shut off and a broken one for a little while when our landlord attempted to fix it. Anyway. So, the toilet. It’s been giving…

100 Posts*
This entry marks my 100th post!! How very exciting is THAT? I feel like this is a milestone in my blogging career that must be celebrated. I think I shall celebrate with a nap. And whyyyyyyy on earth would I celebrate with a nap? Well, because I am tired. That’s why. And whyyyyyyyy am I tired? BECAUSE THE STUPID FIRE ALARMS IN MY STUPID BUILDING WENT OFF AT 5 FREAKING AM AND STAYED ON FOR 20 MINUTES. THAT’S why. And after going downstairs to check with my landlord and all the other angry tenants to make sure that there really was no fire, I trudged back up to bed and…

New Faucet*
The Hubster is taking a quick nap so I thought I’d take a minute to write in here. We’ve had a great weekend–we spent yesterday relaxing and my wannabe handy man Landlord came up to take a look at our bathroom faucet. The thing has been leaking almost since we moved in, and he’s already been up to fix it once. The first time he managed to get it to stop leaking for a few weeks, then it slowly increased once again. We live in an old apartment building so these things are sort of expected. We had the same problem in our kitchen this summer– the kitchen tap would…

Four Sleeps*
I’m tired. I almost didn’t get to write today. Really, if you want to get technical, I didn’t because today is really already tomorrow. But I’m sure that somewhere it is still today, so I’m counting it. Today felt reeeeeeeally long. I woke up early to work on my essay, and managed to get out a few sentences before my brain died. I don’t even think it wants to consider the idea of working on this essay. Who wants to write about Diefenbaker anyway? Not I, says I. And then… I had to go to work. Work is never exciting. At least not anymore… when I got to work in…
