    It’s A…

Well, the Hubster and I had our ultrasound today! I was feeling a little anxious before we went in–drinking all that water always makes me feel a little queasy, and I was nervous that we’d end up with a technician who wouldn’t tell us the gender of the baby. Luckily, I waited a little later to start drinking so I wasn’t dying when the ultrasound started, and the technician was lovely. She even turned the screen so I could see everything she was doing for the entire appointment. It’s so thrilling to finally see this little person that you’ve felt dancing inside you. As far as we know everything looks…

    Pink or Blue?

Tomorrow! By this time tomorrow I will (hopefully) know what sex this little peanut is! I wish I could say that I was feeling one way or the other, but the truth is: I have absolutely no clue. I haven’t even had a chance to see my good friend who swears up and down by her “ring test”. Basically you are supposed to attach a gold ring to a long string, then lay down on the floor. Someone else will stand over you and hold the string over your belly. If the ring sways back and forth it’s supposed to be a boy; if it goes in a circle, it’s…

    19 Weeks: Almost Halfway There*

Holy smokes, I’m almost halfway through this pregnancy. I feel like just yesterday I was announcing that I was 13 weeks pregnant, and then I blinked and here I am, just shy of my halfway mark. I have been terrible at taking photos and recording updates, but here’s a peek at my 19 week bump: In just three sleeps the Hubster and I can find out if this little peanut is a boy or a girl and I am SO excited. Our appointment is at noon on Saturday, and it feels like this week is going by so slowly. This pregnancy has felt different for me. I’m glad I have…

    Life is Good*

Well, it’s been an exciting few days! For starters, I’m back to work. It’s taken me a week to get into the swing of things again, and I love my new schedule. Instead waking up at 5:30am to rush out the door with Ruby by 7:10, I now have an extra three hours in the morning as I don’t leave until 10:15. It means I can enjoy a leisurely breakfast with my family, have a snuggle with my sweet girl, tidy the house a bit and prepare for my day before I head out the door. It’s wonderful to be back in my old department, and my classes are small…

    My Secret Interview*

I have a little bit of news. I didn’t tell you, but I had a secret interview today. Last week a position opened at the school I taught at (and loved) last year. I tossed in an application and hoped for the best. I don’t know why I kept it a secret, but after two unsuccessful interviews, I was getting a bit tired of having to write about my woes. On Friday, the principal called and asked me to come in for an interview, which was today. It’s a 0.5 position (afternoons only) teaching English and Geography. Even though I have never taught Geography, I really, really wanted this. I love…
