    I can’t stop eating*

I decided that I wasn’t done writing at the end of October after all. Even though I’m usually tired and feel like I’m sacrificing sleep, this has really become part of my day that I look forward to and I like the motivation of trying to complete something. So, I’m going to push on and try and write every day until Christmas. I’m a little nervous that things will get busy through the December rush, but I want to try. I’ve written more in the last two months than I have in years, and in a way it’s helping me feel more like “me” than I have in a long…

    Happy Hallowe’en!

I saw a scrunchie today.   A scrunchie. A student in one of my classes as wearing it and I had to pass by her like 3 times to make sure I was actually seeing what I thought I was seeing. Finally I just stopped and asked, “Is that a scrunchie?” Her hand immediately flew to her hair where it was. She she smiled and said, “Yup! I have a few of them.” I could barely contain my excitement. I asked if they were “in style” again now, and she and a few other girls enthusiastically replied that they were. I love this. I know I live under a rock, but…

    Mom Moment*

I honestly don’t even know where tonight went. Well, I know where the last 30 minutes went… I’ve been non stop texting with my brother about season 2 of Making a Murderer which I finished yesterday. I have SO MANY FEELINGS. I’m still processing. We just had a good vent session and I feel like I need to hash this out some more. It left me with so many theories and questions and I need more episodes to understand. (Such a good show though! Are you watching?) Tonight has been my night for whirlwind cleaning and prep as I work tomorrow. M and I have been running around trying to…

    Do you ever really know?

So, while all the kids were playing and running amuck at the Hallowe’en party on Saturday, all the adults sat around the dining room table and had a good chat. We were all involved in smaller, separate conversations at one point, but I tuned into another conversation when I heard one friend ask another, “So, is two it then?” I half listened for a minute before joining in, and they were all discussing the sizes of their families and whether or not they were done having more children. It’s something that I am asked all the time, both by good friends and by total strangers that I’ve just met. Once…

    Through Their Eyes*

I’m home again after a whirlwind trip to visit my family. There is never enough time to squeeze in all the visits I’d like, but I always leave feeling so grateful that I’ve been able to go at all. I love my family–both the originals and the new additions. ;) (Even without beards.) My family lives a little bit north of here, and when we woke up this morning, my mom called S & H over to the window as she threw open the curtains. It had started to snow overnight, and there was a layer of thick white snow blanketing everything, and these big fluffy flakes falling from the…
