    New Look (again)*

So… what do you think? I was bored tonight and decided to give my wee blog a bit of a face lift! Seeing as it’s been hideously cold here for the past few days I thought I’d go with a warmer look. :) For those who have already voted once (and perhaps twice) in my poll, I’m sorry… when I added the new template it deleted everything off and I had to start from scratch. Please vote again, and I promise it will be the last time! So this has been this evening’s project for me. Today was pretty uneventful… we got our new freezer [our old one died… :(]…

    Happy Valentine’s Day!

I know I’m technically a day late, but the Hubs and I had a very busy day yesterday and so decided to celebrate today instead! The Hubs bought me these beautiful flowers (I love roses), wrote me an amazing card [as he always does… :)] and has been absolutely wonderful all week. We had originally planned to go out for dinner together, but in the end we decided to stay in and make dinner together. He cooked a fabulous steak, and I handled the vegetables. It was dee-licious. After dinner we curled up on the futon and watched the first half of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. The…

    It’s a Sign*

I love signs that are incorrect. You know, business signs that have lights go out, or when neighborhood hooligans steal letters to make signs spell something funny. For example, for the longest time I shopped at the Price Chooper. Now I shop at the Rice Choooer. Apparently Price Chopper doesn’t fix their signs. When Too Kool, Phee, the Hubs and I were driving around looking for a restaurant on the weekend, we passed my current favourite: Mark’s Work Warhouse. My all-time favourite though, was that our library in town read ‘Senior’s City Pubic Library’ for nearly 6 months before it was fixed. haha Seriously, how classy is that? It’s right…

    I love Grade 2*

Today was my first real day in the classroom as a literacy/numeracy tutor. Last year my job was a little different, I was teaching 6 students at a time a separate curriculum heavily based on literacy skills in a separate classroom and had very little interaction with the teachers or other students. However, THIS year I am right in the class and am somewhat of a student teacher! I was a little apprehensive when I learned that I would be working in a grade 2 classroom as I prefer working with older students, but after my experience today I am 90% converted. I now see why so many people apply…

    New Day*

Well, Monday was a crappy day. After I wrote that post I had a good cry and the Hubs held me and talked me through my stress-I-hate-school-cry and watched a movie with me until I was too tired to even stay awake anymore. Have I mentioned how much I adore my husband? Yesterday was much better. I decided to break from the ordinary and spend a day OFF campus. It was wonderful. I also started my first day teaching again. I met with my principal yesterday at 1pm to discuss my new teaching position and am SO happy to report that I actually got matched with the teacher I was…
