Seven Months Later*
Seven months. I think that’s the longest I’ve gone without writing something, somewhere since I was a kid. It was a much needed respite, but I’m feeling that pull again to put my thoughts down somewhere… and despite my increased absences, this little blog still feels like home. So much has happened since August that I’m not even sure where to begin. First of all–our biggest news–I’m pregnant! If you are friends with me on Facebook then this won’t be a surprise, but I’m currently 21 weeks along with our third, and we just found out that it’s a boy. That was a huge surprise for me as I could…

Life With Two*
Shortly after Peeah gave birth to my handsome nephew three years ago, I asked her how she was managing. For some reason, her response found a tiny shelf in my mind and has stayed put. After telling me everything was good, her answer to my question was simple. She chuckled and said: “Life is busy with two.” I knew that life would get a little more complicated with two kids, but I didn’t understand or appreciate what she really meant until now. Happy Birthday, Ruby*
Happy Valentine’s Day! Ah, the day of love. When the wee-bean was born, the way we viewed this day was forever changed and it took on a whole new meaning. Today, our beautiful red-haired girl turned two. (cue waves of serious denial) I’m glad we decided to have her party last weekend, especially in light of the new “fun” pregnancy symptoms I’ve been experiencing all week. I enjoyed one day of relief yesterday where I felt normal for most of the day and I am so grateful for that. It was almost worth spending half the night on the bathroom floor alternating between waves of nausea and cramping. Fun! Anyway.…

My Little Ruby*
Well, I made it through another week! My little peanut is still safe and sound in my (large) belly, hiccuping and kicking away. There were a few moments when I wasn’t sure if labor was starting or not, but thankfully he quieted down and has decided to stay put. For the moment, anyway. When I finished work last Friday my secret hope was that I would at least get a week off to be at home with Ruby and try and get myself organized. I’m already secretly hoping for another one, as I had a wonderful time with her (and I still have a billion things I want to do.…

A December to Remember*
Oh, December. What a month you turned out to be. I can honestly say that almost nothing turned out the way I planned or expected, but as things almost always do–it all worked out in the end. Let’s take a look back, shall we? December rolled in and we found ourselves scrambling to finish our bathroom and get the house decorated before the Hubster’s mom came for a visit. It was a bit of a mad rush trying to balance work + house projects + pregnancy + toddler, but we got it all done and enjoyed a wonderful visit with his mom. Then the Hubster got sick. In the eight…
