I Did It!!!!!!
I DID IT. After I wrote my last blog post this afternoon, the kids woke up and proceeded to destroy my house. I went from calm, quiet, happy time to being surrounded by a tornado of toys, cashews and raisins. (Note: I did not eat the raisins. They are gross. But Ruby likes them and I am trying to be a good mom. Ugh.) The Hubster got home from work a little after four, and even though I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go out for a run, an escape from the chaos suddenly seemed appealing. I quickly changed, laced up my shoes and off I went. I’m on…

Hello September*
Hellooooo beautiful September. I am SO glad that we’re in a new month–I am so ready to put August behind me and pretend like it never happened. Aside from my ninth wedding anniversary with the Hubster (which we have yet to celebrate), August was pretty much a disaster. At the end of July I finally felt ready to commit to losing some weight and found the motivation I needed to do it. I started running again, but it felt like the universe spent the last month trying to prevent me from it. At the end of July I dislocated one of my ribs and I am still struggling with it.…

Happy Birthday, Ruby*
Happy Valentine’s Day! Ah, the day of love. When the wee-bean was born, the way we viewed this day was forever changed and it took on a whole new meaning. Today, our beautiful red-haired girl turned two. (cue waves of serious denial) I’m glad we decided to have her party last weekend, especially in light of the new “fun” pregnancy symptoms I’ve been experiencing all week. I enjoyed one day of relief yesterday where I felt normal for most of the day and I am so grateful for that. It was almost worth spending half the night on the bathroom floor alternating between waves of nausea and cramping. Fun! Anyway.…

Bathroom Doors and Visits with Grandma*
Well, that was a bit of an unintended break. For the last several weeks, my “free time” has been poured into our upstairs bathroom. When we moved into our little home, we knew we eventually wanted to paint it, but it wasn’t a priority so we just lived with what was there. Then we found mold under the bathtub tiles… …and thus began the big bathroom overhaul. We’ve been slowly picking at it over the last year and a half as there were a ton of projects that needed to be done. The Hubster first spent a week living in the tub as he gutted it right down to the…

My Secret Interview*
I have a little bit of news. I didn’t tell you, but I had a secret interview today. Last week a position opened at the school I taught at (and loved) last year. I tossed in an application and hoped for the best. I don’t know why I kept it a secret, but after two unsuccessful interviews, I was getting a bit tired of having to write about my woes. On Friday, the principal called and asked me to come in for an interview, which was today. It’s a 0.5 position (afternoons only) teaching English and Geography. Even though I have never taught Geography, I really, really wanted this. I love…
