    Back on Track*

I’ve been lazy. Since I started working a couple of weeks ago I’ve used it as an excuse not to exercise. Well, after being inspired by an entry in a friend’s blog about her perseverance towards her weight loss goal (and her revelation that she’s lost 20 pounds!!) and a further kick in my pants in the form of an email of one of my readers, I kicked my butt into gear and went for a run today. I normally run though the residential neighborhoods nearby, but today I decided to run on a high school track that’s not far from where I am. I find it’s easier to monitor…

    Sunrise, Sunset*

Sometimes I like to pretend that I’m a photographer. Really, I don’t even think that I’ve even hit amateur status yet. haha! But every so often I take a picture that kind of turns out how I’d like it to. The sunset last night was so beautiful it was ridiculous… so I took some pictures and I thought I’d share them with you. These photos brought back a memory of a song I wrote when I was 17. It was just after I’d broken up with my first boyfriend and I was really… melancholy. The Tribe is Growing*

As you may (or may not) know, I very recently had a birthday and just turned 23 years young. With birthdays usually come presents and well wishes from family and friends. Well dear readers, I am about to tell you why I have the best mother-in-law ever. In March I shared my secret with you. I was with the Hubster’s Mom when I first discovered this passion and began collecting. I don’t get out to antique barns very often (which is where they are often located) so I only get one or two a year. However, the Hubster’s Mom is amazing and collected not one, but FOUR new “Indian” dolls…

    Summer of Reading*

I love summer. During the lovely, lovely months of May, June, July and August I have no classes which in turn means that there are no dreaded assigned readings. Which are almost guaranteed to be boring unless they are with my most favourite professor ever who makes everything delightful. Anyway, I digress. I take advantage of these four months to reestablish my love of reading that each school year inevitably destroys. Word to the wise–if you love reading, never ever become an English major. I decided that as I am reading like CRAZY this summer (especially as I now get paid to sit in the sun and read) I’d keep…

  • Our Story

Chapter Four* …Holy Toot! I’m Engaged!!

Whenever I ask to hear about someone else’s proposal story, or even when someone asks to hear mine, the story always seems to end at “Will you marry me?”. Of course that’s when all the suspense and waiting ends and when (I hope) the happily ever after begins. But I think there is always a little more to a proposal story… I’m always interested to know what happens after he (or she) has popped the question. Did he drop you off at home with a wave and say, “see you at the chapel”? Or was the proposal only the beginning of a wonderful evening together? You see, what happened after…
