Fire Alarm*
The Hubster and I have had a busy week, so last night we tried to go to bed early. We were in bed by 10pm, and after watching/falling asleep to an episode of Seinfeld, we decided it was time to turn in. I’m pretty sure I was out cold before he even turned out the light. At 12:45am I woke up suddenly to a loud, consistent beeping which I immediately recognized as our smoke detector. The Book Club*
Last night we had our monthly book club get together. Over the past few months we’ve switched from meeting at coffee shops and restaurants to rotating through each others homes and apartments. We originally began in coffee shops as our group was so tiny and I was the only common link between everyone. Desperate to try and build some friendships in my new town, I emailed every girl acquaintance I knew between the ages of 20 – 30 within a 30 km radius of my apartment, hoping that a couple might respond and be interested in joining a book club. 20 Weeks*
How Far Along: 20 Weeks* Size of Baby: Canteloupe Weight Gain: 6 pounds (I lost one this week… eek.) Movement: Nothing yet. I learned at my ultrasound that my placenta is at the front of my uterus which means I likely won’t feel anything for another 2 – 3 weeks. Cravings: Nope! Food Aversions: Still no corn on the cob, and red meat is generally unappetizing. Symptoms: I haven’t had any crazy symptoms this week, except that I can now feel where the baby is sitting. Pink or Blue?
I had my first ultrasound yesterday. I know I promised to post the results of said ultrasound last night, but we weren’t able to reach some of our family members until close to 10pm, and then… I was tired. It was a bit of an emotional day. :) I ended up getting a call to work a full day yesterday at a school I don’t normally go to. Luckily, the last class finished at 2:20pm so I thought it would leave me plenty of time to drive from the school and be at my appointment for 3. Yeah, right. Tomorrow. We find out if we’re having a boy or a girl at 3pm TOMORROW. Of course I finally got a call for work and I’m sure it will be the longest day EVER. I also have to drink an obscene amount of water and not pee. I may be dancing through my last period class… haha! Stay tuned. :)
