Long Weekend: Travel Report*
This post is coming to you from the Great White North! After a long eight hour trip, we arrived at my Grammy’s just before dinner on Friday. Ruby was a champ in the car–she watched the Wiggles, played with her toys and snacked and only fussed when she was ready to have a nap. However, when we finally got out of the car, she ran non-stop for three hours until she crashed at 7:30. I followed her into bed not long after. We woke up yesterday to some lovely northern weather–when we left the city, it was humid and hot. I’m pretty sure the temperature was hovering around or above…

Strange Dreams*
You guys, strange things are happening in my head at night. The Hubster and I have long joked that we have real-life personalities, and “dream personalities”. I sometimes have dreams about the Hubster were he does things that I don’t like. I used to wake up in the morning and get mad at him for things he did in my dream, and he didn’t like being held accountable for “Dream-Hubster’s” actions. (I know. We’re weird.) I have always had very vivid dreams that I often remember. They are usually funny and a little weird, and the Hubster usually just laughs and shakes his head at me when I explain my…

Oldyweds: Eight Years Later*
Yesterday the Hubster and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. Even though I hear myself saying “eight years” and I know it’s true, I’m having a hard time believing it. Where on earth has the time gone? I swear we were just students enjoying our leisurely university life, surviving on hamburger helper and OSAP money. We’ve come a long way in those eight years. For those who have been here with me for a while, you know that The Hubster and I had a whirlwind seven week romance before getting engaged, and we were married just five short months after that. I’m pretty sure that just about everyone who knew…

I Heart Vacation*
Ah, vacation. It’s been positively lovely. We’ve spent a wonderful week with the Hubster’s parents, and are gearing up for our last full day on the island tomorrow. The Hubster has plans to go deep sea fishing in the morning, then I think we’ll do a little more exploring around Cavendish before we pack our bags. It really is very peaceful here. After spending years living so close to Toronto, it amazes me to see so much… space. There are acres and acres of green land without new subdivisions of skinny, tall townhouses being built. You can look around and just see trees and fields forever. Until you hit the…

Over or Under?
This post is coming to you from beautiful Prince Edward Island! The Hubster, Wee-bean and I packed our lives into three duffle bags and flew across the country to spend a week with the Hubster’s parents (aka: Grandmam and Grandad). It was Ruby’s first time on a plane and she did SO well. There were no tears–just lots of monkey-like climbing as she tried to say hello to every single person on the plane. It feels lovely to be on vacation. Grandmam and Grandad have a beautiful home in the country and it is so scenic. We are surrounded by farmer’s fields that stretch for miles until the reach the…
