The Turn Tooth Picture Day Photo Results*

Do you remember our prize-winning parenting moment a few weeks back where we bribed our daughter not to wiggle her wiggly “turn tooth” until after her school picture day? Maybe bribe isn’t the right word. We “incentivized”. (That makes me feel better. ha) S really did /  does have the most beautiful baby teeth. Not that her smile is any less beautiful with her two bottom teeth missing, but now she looks like she’s aged 5 years and is officially a “big kid”. M wanted one more school photo of her with her teeth before beginning the years of missing teeth school photos which document that our kid is growing…

    She’s a Jack o’ Lantern!!

Well folks, today was picture day for H and Miss S. She has done SO well not wiggling her turn tooth, even though I know she’s wanted to so badly. Yesterday was a PA Day for the kids, and M surprised us all by taking the day off so we could have a family day. S held up her end of the turn tooth bargain, so yesterday we packed all the kids in the vanimal and went on a little family adventure. With three small kids, I don’t spend a lot of time in malls. We go there once a year to get photos with Santa, but other than the…

    It Happened Again*

We had another eventful night. I went to bed shortly after my last post, and thanks to my friend Nyquil, I fell asleep almost immediately. I woke up around 11:30 to use the washroom, and while I was shuffling back into bed, I heard the door to the kids’ room click open. Out stumbled H, still half asleep and complaining of a sore tummy. I got him down the hall to the washroom just before he threw up. Again. He told me his tummy was a little sore before he fell asleep, but assured me he wasn’t sick. He fell asleep quickly and easily so I put it out of…

    Yogurt Toobebrush*

I had a moment where I was pretty proud of myself today. After lunch, I collapsed on the couch and tried to close my eyes for a few minutes before it was time to wake P up. We actually made it to church today, but I’m still not feeling great and it just about did me in. As I was laying there, H sauntered in eating a frozen yogurt tube. He gave me a big smile and said, H: “Mom, when I’m all done I’m going to brush my teeth.” As he was speaking, I couldn’t help but smile. Over the last year H has come leaps and bounds with…

    I Had a Nap Today*

After a string of super busy weekends, we finally had a glorious home day. M took the kids to ringette this morning, but I didn’t even leave the house and it was so lovely. I can’t seem to kick this cold, so P and I enjoyed a quiet morning, then this afternoon I shoved all the laundry waiting to be folded onto M’s side, then crawled into bed and had a nap. I was so cozy underneath my duvet and all our clean laundry. I could have happily stayed buried there all day, but there is a gaggle of small people who live here who like to be fed and…
