Life is Good*
Well, it’s been an exciting few days! For starters, I’m back to work. It’s taken me a week to get into the swing of things again, and I love my new schedule. Instead waking up at 5:30am to rush out the door with Ruby by 7:10, I now have an extra three hours in the morning as I don’t leave until 10:15. It means I can enjoy a leisurely breakfast with my family, have a snuggle with my sweet girl, tidy the house a bit and prepare for my day before I head out the door. It’s wonderful to be back in my old department, and my classes are small…

My Secret Interview*
I have a little bit of news. I didn’t tell you, but I had a secret interview today. Last week a position opened at the school I taught at (and loved) last year. I tossed in an application and hoped for the best. I don’t know why I kept it a secret, but after two unsuccessful interviews, I was getting a bit tired of having to write about my woes. On Friday, the principal called and asked me to come in for an interview, which was today. It’s a 0.5 position (afternoons only) teaching English and Geography. Even though I have never taught Geography, I really, really wanted this. I love…

Back to Substitute Teaching*
Well, I’m officially back on the supply (substitute) list. I finally got things sorted out with this automated system, and again I find myself sorely missing my real-life dispatchers who used to call when there was a job to be had. This automated system is supposed to be more equitable and blah blah blah, but I’ve only ever had problems with it. You can’t change anything on your profile, and even when you try and call in for help, you’re just supposed to leave a message and wait for someone to get back to you. I miss my people. *sigh* Anyway. This morning was my first morning waiting for a…

A Little Project*
So, I’ve been working on a little something. I actually started it last winter, but then I landed my LTO and all the free time I had went out the window. I finally decided to finish it this summer, and I think it’s almost ready to show you. I know that the “blogging world” is a little foreign to some of you… but it’s a much bigger place than my little corner of the internet. There are some amazing online “communities”, where you can connect with other writers and find people with similar interests to you. It’s a great way to network, and it’s been through these communities that I’ve…

The Headboard: Before & After*
I’ve had a busy few days. And by busy I of course mean not really busy at all. My lovelies, I finally started watching North & South. And by “started watching” I obviously mean that I sat glued to my couch until I had watched the entire series. Oh my goodness it was SO good! I was devastated when it ended simply because it meant there wasn’t more to the story. *sigh* In other news, I’m now sixteen weeks pregnant and I fear the days of wearing my own clothes are limited. I’m still squeezing into my pants, but there is a growing pile of pants with top buttons who…
