30 Weeks*
How Far Along: 30 Weeks* Size of Baby: A head of Cabbage Weight Gain: 18.5 pounds Movement: She definitely has a pattern with her movements, and I tend to feel her most first thing in the morning until around 10am, around dinner time, and then again just before I fall asleep. I feel her as she turns and shift positions during the day, but she kicks and dances most at those times. Her kicks are also definitely getting stronger. Today at work she kicked so hard that I gasped out loud in surprise, and the students nearby looked at me and laughed. Cravings: Nothing exciting this week, though I’m having…

My Christmas Wish List*
When I was a little girl, November was exciting for one big reason: The Wish Book. There was just something magical about flipping through the pages of that giant catalogue and ear marking everything I wanted to ask for from Santa. Time with the Wish Book was precious, as it was equally divided between each of my five siblings when the book first arrived. Some years my wish list was ridiculously long, but I find that as I’ve gotten older it’s become harder and harder to think of things to add to my wish list. I no longer run for the door every day waiting for the catalogue, but I…

29 Weeks*
How Far Along: 29 Weeks* Size of Baby: Butternut Squash Weight Gain: 17.5 pounds Movement: I feel like I have a little Mexican jumping wee-bean in my belly! She loves to move and I can feel her all the time. This morning it feels a bit like she is doing the running-man on my belly–just the idea of it makes me laugh. haha! Her movements are definitely getting stronger and on more than one occasion I’ve gasped out loud when she gives me a good kick–more out of surprise than pain. It’s amazing to me that the feeling has changed from little pokes to giant kicks! On Sunday we had…

Stolen: A Story of Plagiarism*
I don’t consider myself to be a great writer. I think I’m a good writer, but I know that I still have so many things I could improve on. I think that I sometimes have great ideas, but that it’s not always consistant. That’s why I was shocked when I found out that another website had blatantly stolen ten posts that I had recently written. But let’s start at the beginning, shall we? WordPress has this neat little feature on the dashboard that lets me sort out comments as they come in. Most are approved automatically, while ones that seem a little “spammy” are flagged for me to have a…

…is she pregnant?
One of my favourite aspects of being a pregnant substitute teacher is the looks I get from the staff in schools I don’t regularly go to. You see, in my mind there is no mistaking that I’m pregnant. Thus far I’ve managed to keep my weight gain and growth within a healthy limit and the only really noticeable expansion has been in my belly. If someone was looking at me from behind I could see how there could be some questions, but when you look at me head on I think: “BABY!” …apparently not. haha A little while ago I was called to go to a school that I have…
