Shortly before 4pm yesterday, the principal from the school I interviewed at called me. I knew that I didn’t have the job before he even finished saying hello. He was quick to let me know that I had not been chosen for the job. He then went on to explain why, citing that I hadn’t been detailed or specific enough with my answers. He further explained that while I answered every question “correctly”, I hadn’t used enough personal examples or dropped enough “buzz words”. (Rubrics! Assessment!) Thrifty Thursday – Shrug Sweaters*
So, I didn’t get the job. …but let’s not talk about that. It’s Thursday! Hooray! I’ve barely had any time to go out thrift shopping in the last few weeks, and it makes me very sad. The roller coaster that is my life keeps hurtling forward at a breakneck speeds and it’s all I can do to hang on and not fall off. I love Tom Hanks. I love him like I love chocolate. I love him like I love shoes. He is absolutely my favourite actor in the entire world. I know he is not perfect, but there is just something so… lovable about him. And I love that. In our home, I have a whole shelf dedicated to Tom Hanks movies.
