World’s Worst Driver?
**I’ve heard a lot of grumbling about people generally disliking Disqus– the comment system I currently have on my blog. If the majority of you don’t like it, I’ll happily switch back to the Blogger comments (it just makes it more difficult for me to individually respond to your comments). Please take a second to let me know your thoughts by voting on my poll! :) –> Driving is not always the easiest thing in the world, but it’s definitely not rocket science either. We’ve all had our “Oops!” moments, but I’m a pretty cautious driver–I don’t really trust anyone around me on the road. I’ve seen too many stupid…

20SB Blog Swap 5 – “Well, that was Easy!”
Hey blogosphere! It’s the 20SB Blog Swap Day! This is Phampants here. I’m partnered up with Shop Girl who happens to be a teacher like myself. So for this swap day, we’re going to treat you with our awesome stories about being a teacher. First I’m going to share you one of my favorite stories during my teaching days. Once you finish reading mine, go check out Shop Girl’s post on my blog. The first class I ever taught was seniors. Let’s just say this; there was basically no age difference between them and me. Hodge Podge*
Today you get a random hodge podge of this and that. Be excited. I thought I’d start with a little something I found over at The Wife in Stilletto‘s blog that I really liked. She made a list of six random, unimportant, simple little things that make her happy. So, here are mine: 1. Waking up to sunshine.2. Warm towels out of the dryer.3. Peanut butter cookies.4. Tom Hanks + Meg Ryan movies.5. George Winston’s music.6. Avocado & cucumber sushi rolls. What are yours? Today I spent a long time reviewing my French grammar. I’m not even great with English grammar, so relearning French grammar has been about as fun…

Shop Girl’s iShame*
I need a new blogging schedule. The Hubster is on a new work schedule which involves very early mornings, so we’ve been trying to get to bed a lot earlier than we normally do. I could technically go back to bed after he leaves, but I figure if he’s out working hard, I can be here working hard to try and find a job. I’ve been applying to every teaching position I can, even the ones that I am not technically qualified for but think I could do. It’s a bit discouraging to sit here day after day and hope that the phone will ring, but I’m trying to keep…

Take the Test*
I feel like I just signed my entire life away. haha Today I attempted to be productive and spent the entire afternoon updating my license and health card information with our new address (but I still have to go in for the new picture… ugh), completing my passport application and fixing up the ol’ summer job résumé. I found a job that I reeeeeeally want right across the street. I think it’s destiny. I shall apply for said job tomorrow. It’s a secretarial job at a medical office which means sweet hours — no evenings or weekends — and a professional work environment (no more mothers coming in with all…
