Not the Giveaway Post*
I was going to announce my giveaway today. I really was. I was going to go get groceries right after taking the kids to school, then come home and write and get it organized. We walked to school as it’s finally, finally not raining, and on the way home P decided to take the long route. We explored every stick and rock on our way, and found our friends and neighbours in their driveway so we stopped for a chat. It was after 10 by the time we got home, and then I learned that two separate people close to me each lost a parent today. So, instead of getting…

I Don’t Even Know*
Writing every day has felt harder this month. Not in the sense that I’m running out of things to say, but just finding time to actually do it has felt more challenging. Being sick for like, ever, didn’t help, nor have P’s less than stellar sleeping habits this past little bit. My favourite time to write is in the early afternoon when the house is quiet. P is down for his nap, and I still have hours ahead of me to get all the other things I need to do done. Lately though, on the days I’ve been home I’ve needed those precious hours to sleep while he sleeps. While…

Kee-Kaw Shopping and New Drugs*
I’m feeling a little better today. I think I’ve finally found a medication that’s working, and it’s so nice to not feel like I’m coughing up one of my lungs every 5 minutes. Seriously. I’ve coughed more in the last three weeks than I have my entire life. I spent four days on Benylin with no results, but a regimen of DayQuil complete and NyQuil seems to be working. I’m sleeping better AND my head no longer feels like it’s going to explode from extreme congestion. I’m still rocking the donkey voice but I’ve just accepted that it might be permanent by this point. Today was a much needed nothing…

10 Things You Might Not Know About Me*
Do you remember those email surveys that used to go around back in the day? When I was in high school, before the days of social media, email and messenger services were the big thing. Anybody who was anybody had email addresses with amazing names (I was ironwoman_088 back when Hotmail was cool) and I used to love those huge chain survey emails that would come around. There were seriously like a million questions to answer and nowadays my mind is seriously boggled when I consider how much time I had to both read and fill out all these surveys… but I still filled them out every. single. time. And…

A Simpler Life*
It’s been six weeks since my course ended. I feel a bit ridiculous that it’s taken this long, but I finally feel like I can breathe easy again. After an extremely challenging winter, spring has blown in with a beautiful breath of fresh air. Now that P is finally, finally sleeping through the night like a champ (*knock on wood*) I feel more like myself than I have in ages. H is four now, and is just on the cusp of giving up his nap. He can go all day without one, he just gets verrrrry emotional about every. little. thing by dinnertime if he hasn’t had it. I’m also…
