Easter Nachos*
I’ve had a relatively busy day, but I wanted to write a quick update before I embark on my essay for the evening (due tomorrow). Luckily it’s only 4 pages (so it’s really more like a paragraph) and it’s on poetry which is fairly easy to analyze. It might be a late night though. :) Church was… interesting. The talks were focused on the Saviour and on the atonement which was really nice. The last one was a touch long (the meeting ran 25 minutes overtime) but we survived. There were also a number of musical numbers today. The choir did their best and performed some simple hymn arrangements and…

Easter*
I’m currently attempting to write a short presentation about Niger for my French class and have absolutely no motivation to begin. So instead, I came here. I’ve been thinking quite a bit about Easter today. I’m really missing my family (I haven’t seen them in 3 months and that’s quite a marathon for me) and this is the first year that we didn’t travel to be with family, either his or mine. Universities apparently don’t care about religious holidays and as a result do not mark Easter Monday as one, so it makes traveling anywhere difficult. This year it was impossible as the Hubs had a group meeting on Friday…

Back to the Classics*
I heart Mozart. More specifically, I am in love with Symphony No. 40 in G Minor. I had kind of forgotten about my passion for classical music of late and have been mostly listening to mainstream music. However, the other night as I decided to vent on my piano keys I pulled out my classical music and started flipping through the pages. I haven’t played it in AGES, so I began with the classics–Pachelbel’s Canon (Canon in D), Hayden’s Surprise Symphony, Fur Elise, and then I flipped to Mozart. I had COMPLETELY forgotten about this piece… and I used to know it so well that I could play it by…

Taken Aback*
I first heard this on perezhilton.com and was really taken aback. I’m not really politically-minded; I believe in the freedom of choice (including one’s lifestyle) and I believe that the following statements by Sally Kern are closed-minded and unfair. I do believe thats she too has the freedom to take a stand on homosexuality, but to put forth statements that are now being labeled as hate speech by many that are offensive and hurtful is just wrong. I don’t know. Take a listen HERE. She has released a statement that she stands by what she said. Thoughts? Shop Girl*

Not in Florida*
Ugggggh….. snow. Snow snow snow. Most of Southern Ontario has been absolutely blanketed in a thick layer of sky vomit. It started a little bit last night, but came on in full force this morning. Unfortunately, my university (and many others) had planned to have their Open Houses for prospective students today. I had to go in to man a booth for my position at school, and of the 1000+ that had RSVP’d, about 100 showed up. Needless to say, it was a sloooooow day. haha! Thankfully we (the Hubster had to go in for his job as well) were finished by 1pm and made it home as they eventually…
