Pregnancy Perspective*
I’m not the pregnant person I thought I’d be. Everyone has a dream about some big life event and how they would love for it to unfold. For many girls / women, it’s their wedding. Some even have it planned out before they’ve even met the groom. It wasn’t like that for me. It wasn’t that I didn’t think about getting married, the big frilly wedding part just wasn’t something I ever really thought about until the Hubster proposed. There were no wedding dress collages in my childhood, and I didn’t know what song my Dad and I were going to dance to until a couple of weeks before the…

22 Weeks*
How Far Along: 22 Weeks* Size of Baby: Papaya Weight Gain: 10 pounds Movement: I think so! (More on this below) Cravings: I’m craving textures, not specific things. For example, all afternoon I was dying for something crunchy. I didn’t care what it was, but it needed a good crisp to it. Dorritos fit the bill perfectly. Food Aversions: Eggs. Ugh. Actually, I haven’t tried eating them in weeks… but the smell of them cooking makes me feel vomitous. Symptoms: I had some heartburn flare up this week for the first time. It was really bad last weekend, but I’ve since learned that excessive amounts of garlic and tomatoes seem…

21 Weeks*
How Far Along: 21 Weeks* Size of Baby: Banana Weight Gain: 8 pounds Movement: Still nothing, but still not worried. Cravings: Sugar. It’s bad. Food Aversions: Nothing specific, but I’m very sensitive to textures. Also, having too much in my mouth feels disgusting. I can only take small bites. Symptoms: Vivid, weird dreams. Full of absolutely random people and places. Chances are that if I know you, I’ve probably dreamed about you in an entirely non-creepy weird sort of way. Also, I just started to have a bit of sporadic cramping. Apparently this is the beginning of Braxton Hicks contractions. Fun! Lastly, my pants don’t fit. Does that count as…

20 Weeks*
How Far Along: 20 Weeks* Size of Baby: Canteloupe Weight Gain: 6 pounds (I lost one this week… eek.) Movement: Nothing yet. I learned at my ultrasound that my placenta is at the front of my uterus which means I likely won’t feel anything for another 2 – 3 weeks. Cravings: Nope! Food Aversions: Still no corn on the cob, and red meat is generally unappetizing. Symptoms: I haven’t had any crazy symptoms this week, except that I can now feel where the baby is sitting. She likes to be up high just under my ribs, and I can always tell when she has snuck her way up there! I…

Pink or Blue?
I had my first ultrasound yesterday. I know I promised to post the results of said ultrasound last night, but we weren’t able to reach some of our family members until close to 10pm, and then… I was tired. It was a bit of an emotional day. :) I ended up getting a call to work a full day yesterday at a school I don’t normally go to. Luckily, the last class finished at 2:20pm so I thought it would leave me plenty of time to drive from the school and be at my appointment for 3. Yeah, right. I spent my last class out in a portable downing two…
