Just a bit small*
In my family, whenever we’re sick, low in spirit or even just pensive, we say we’re feeling “small”. …I’m feeling a bit small tonight. I don’t know where it’s coming from–I haven’t had a terrible day by any stretch of the imagination. I got some things done around the house this morning and had an easy, easy afternoon at work. I did manage to completely gap on dinner and forget the put-the-food-in-the-slow-cooker portion of my planned slow-cooker meal, but c’est la vie. I just feel… unsettled. I know that part of it is stress–I think I’m being evaluated tomorrow. I was booked for my day tomorrow more than two weeks…

Room*
Tonight was book club night. I know I keep saying this over and over, but I love my book club girls. Seriously. When I first dreamed about starting a book club, I couldn’t have even imagined a greater group of women than this. We’re all so different, but at the same time have so much in common. I look forward to book club night all month long. This month we read Room by Emma Donoghue. It was my pick–I first saw it while browsing through a store during boxing week. The cover immediately caught my eye, and after reading the brief synopsis on the back I knew I had to…

Day 6: Still Alive*
So, judging by my Facebook and Twitter feeds right now, I think I’m the only person I know who is not watching the Superbowl right now. (I’ve actually spent this evening catching up on the American Idol auditions which I bet are a lot more interesting than football.. haha) After a whirlwind weekend, we’re home again. Well, sort of. I’m home. The Hubster is off at a man-party celebrating this exciting football game that’s apparently on TV right now. And sadly, still no nephew. Peeah is very ready to have this child, but her actually due date isn’t until Tuesday. Her husband thinks she’ll have the baby through the night…

Happy Saturdays*
I always find it so much more difficult to write when I’m not at home. I don’t know what it is exactly–I’m always on one adventure or another when I’m traveling so there’s lots to tell you–but it’s just not the same as being at my cozy little desk in my oh, so cluttered office. Not that visiting my family isn’t fabulous. :) Today the Hubster woke up at the crack of dawn and slipped out to go hunting while I lazed around in bed. I slept in allllllll the way to 7:10 am (not quite 8, but I’ll take it) and it felt wonderful. I had breakfast with mummy…

Back to Work*
What a day. I woke up thinking it would be a nice, quiet day… but it turned out to be rather busy. You see, I haven’t worked in the last 10 days. It was exam week for high school students so there was no work to be had. As semester two just started on Thursday (it was a delayed by a day because of the Snowverkill), I really didn’t expect to work again today. I made plans to have lunch with a friend, threw some laundry on and spent a leisurely morning catching up on my shows and mending some clothes. Shortly after 10am I got a call asking if I could…
