FINISHED.
I’M DONE. Two minutes ago I submitted my final assignment for my course. For the last four days I have been working on a one-hour professional development workshop for my colleagues. It had to be designed in a way that anyone could pick up the workshop and present it based on the outline and details I wrote. I was so stressed out this morning–I wanted to get it done today and when I didn’t have a call for work by 7:30 I assumed I’d have the day off. …then (of course) the phone rang at 7:35. I was very grateful for the work, but not grateful for the loss of…

Thrifty Thursday – Black & White*
Ah, lovelies. It’s happening again. For a brief second I thought that things were slowing down a bit, but life is pushing forward at a pace that I can barely keep up with. Sadly, this leaves me with less time for thrift store adventures. However, I do manage to squeeze in 15 minutes here and there. :) I’ll be debuting dress number 2 in two weeks! I’m very excited–I am seriously loving this challenge. I’ve seen some really cute (and hideously ugly) dresses and my next one is cute and a little more casual than the first! Anyway, that’s still two weeks away… Today I’m going to show you one…

Toddlers + Tiaras + Tom Hanks*
I love Tom Hanks. I love him like I love chocolate. I love him like I love shoes. He is absolutely my favourite actor in the entire world. I know he is not perfect, but there is just something so… lovable about him. And I love that. In our home, I have a whole shelf dedicated to Tom Hanks movies. I prefer his earlier stuff–Big, The Money Pitt, Turner & Hooch–but You’ve Got Mail is probably my favourite movie of all time. I have seen it a bajillion times and will watch it a bajillion more times before I’m done. (Ever wonder how I chose the name “Shop Girl”? Three…

Zombie Ants*
I love nature documentaries and videos. I realize that this probably makes me a giant nerd, but I can’t help it. I could sit want watch Planet Earth all day long, then spend the evening curled up watching National Geographic documentaries all night. I find them incredibly interesting, and wonderfully relaxing. So, when I saw that my friend Jae had posted a short nature clip on her Facebook the other day, I clicked it immediately… and I wasn’t disappointed. You see, there are two types of documentaries that I love most of all: oceans and bugs. I love documentaries about the ocean and its inhabitants because it’s so… mysterious. There…

Thrifty… Friday?
So. Let’s play a game. Let’s pretend that today isn’t really Thursday… let’s say it’s still… Wednesday. Which means that tomorrow will be Thursday. Which means that I still have time to write my Thrifty Thursday post for the week! (*bows head in shame*) Sorry loves. I spent all day planning how I was going to write my post and what I was going to show you, but the time to write it never actually materialized. *sigh* This week has just been insane. My house was a disaster zone today, and I could barely see my desk for all the paperwork and and clutter that was piled all over it.…
