    Piano Love*

Oh, I am tired. I started feeling a little off the day we left P.E.I., and by the end of this week my symptoms developed into a full blown chest cold + cough. The cold itself is not terrible, but the cough is keeping me up at night. And then of course my darling wee-bean decided that 4:30am was a glorious wake-up time today. (I disagreed, but apparently I get no say in the matter. *sigh*) She was probably just too excited after spending a wonderful day with her Auntie. My sister drove down yesterday morning and spent the day with us. It was a glorious, relaxing day. We chatted,…

    Apple Time*

When I was little, we had an informal tradition in my house: apple time. Every morning that I was home, after our morning routines / chores were complete we would get to settle in the living room and watch a TV show. We would spread out a blanket on the floor, then my mom would bring us apple slices in these little wooden salad bowls we all loved. I’m not exactly sure how it started, but we loved apple time, and I’m pretty sure that it ignited my love for apples… which are still my favourite fruit. That being said, I’m a bit weird when it comes to apples. I…

    Silly, Silly Me*

Sometimes I do things without thinking them all the way through. This year, we decided to try and actually do something for New Year’s Eve. I’m pretty sure that we didn’t even make it to midnight the two previous years, so in an effort to be a little more exciting, we invited some friends over. We thought we’d order in some Chinese food, play some board games, watch a movie and try and stay up to watch the ball drop at midnight. We jokingly called it our “Old Married People Party”. Now then. I am a planner. We spent NYE with my parents two years ago, and Big Dad ordered…

    Giveaway: 25 Holiday Cards!

This is truly the season of giving. Last night my doorbell rang just before 8:30. I was upstairs, just about to slip into my jammies when I heard it, and a storm cloud immediately began brewing over my head. I had just settled Ruby and was sure that it was going to be someone selling something. I was wrong. As I threw open the door, I found a lovely plate of Christmas baking waiting for me on my step. Attached was a card that wished us a Merry Christmas, signed simply from “Your Friends”. As my grinch heart grew three sizes in that minute, I immediately regretted my immediate angry…

    Bass Buds*

Have you entered my giveaway yet?? It’s open until midnight on Friday! As you know, I am a great lover of music. If I could, I would have music playing just about all the time. Before the wee-bean arrived, my iPod was a constant fixture in my purse and I would often pop in my ear phones and listen to something while out and about. Now that I’m in mummy-mode, I haven’t had many opportunities to lose myself in my music like I used to. I couldn’t really use headphones while I was constantly waiting for my non-napping wee one to jolt herself awake after 6 minutes of rest. But…
