Happy Saturdays*
I always find it so much more difficult to write when I’m not at home. I don’t know what it is exactly–I’m always on one adventure or another when I’m traveling so there’s lots to tell you–but it’s just not the same as being at my cozy little desk in my oh, so cluttered office. Not that visiting my family isn’t fabulous. :) Today the Hubster woke up at the crack of dawn and slipped out to go hunting while I lazed around in bed. Back to Work*
What a day. I woke up thinking it would be a nice, quiet day… but it turned out to be rather busy. You see, I haven’t worked in the last 10 days. It was exam week for high school students so there was no work to be had. As semester two just started on Thursday (it was a delayed by a day because of the Snowverkill), I really didn’t expect to work again today. I made plans to have lunch with a friend, threw some laundry on and spent a leisurely morning catching up on my shows and mending some clothes. Shortly after 10am I got a call asking if I could…

Snowmaggedon*
Snow, snow, snow, snow, snooowwwww! (Watch the above video. That sounds much better in harmony.) It’s all I’ve heard about for the last 24 hours, and the storm dubbed “Snowmaggedon” and “Snowpocalypse” by the Toronto Star has yet to make it’s grand appearance in Ontario. I’ve been watching it travel north all day–my friend in Illinois is stuck at work as they’ve already received 8 inches where he is–and it’s supposed to hit Toronto some time tonight. I have to admit, I’m a little excited. They are saying this storm is the biggest storm that we’ll have seen in a long, long time and I hope it doesn’t disappoint. I’m…

Following Through*
Well, it’s almost here. On December 29th, I finally got my act together and wrote my first blog post in over a month. I made a goal to write every day from then on until the end of January… and I’m almost there. Tomorrow is January 31st, and barring the loss of my fingers in the next 24 hours, I will have written every single day since I set this goal for myself. I’ll be completely honest: I really didn’t think I could do it. My blogging record for 2010 was less than impressive, and while I’m wonderful at setting goals for myself… …I’m terrible at following through. (for reals.)…

The Doctor Search: Progress*
Earlier this month I posted about my search to find a family doctor in my area. It’s almost that time for the dreaded yearly physical, and I’ve had enough of going to strange, new doctors every year. Last year’s experience–while not horrible–was uncomfortable enough to really push me to start my search. My ideal? A young-ish, female doctor that someone I know goes to and likes. So, I started asking around. I posted that I was looking for a doctor on Facebook, and I began asking every woman I knew who her doctor was, how they liked him / her, and whether or not they were taking on new patients.…
