Bill Nye*

For the most part, I don’t enjoy lesson planning.

I love teaching, but I don’t like the prepping part. It’s long, boring and tedious and usually not fun. Usually.

I have been teaching a unit on climate in Geography–a subject I have not taken since I was in grade 9. It has been a big challenge for me as I am learning as I teach and most days I feel like I’m only staying about 5 minutes ahead of my kids. So, I have been leaning on external sources to increase my own knowledge and supplement my lessons.

Tonight I rediscovered Bill Nye… and fell in love all over again. Did you watch this show when you were a kid?? It was one of my favourites, and it is jam packed with glorious things for teaching!

So, I ended up really only watching countless clips from Bill Nye all night and I’m calling it “planning”. Today I like planning. :)
