Missing Home*
For the past 24 hours I’ve been very nostalgic for my little hometown where I grew up. I’ve been avoiding MSN because I’m too lazy to type, but last night I actually went on to chat and talked to a couple of old friends that I hadn’t talked to in a long time. And then I started looking at pictures of everyone together (sans me) and then… I missed home. I miss not being able to go anywhere without running into someone you know. It’s inevitable. You can’t leave your house without seeing someone. I miss driving that 7 minute little strip between Timmins and South Porcupine. I miss walking…

The Good Wife’s Guide*
As I was cleaning out my desk today I came across an article I received in a first year women’s studies class that I thought I’d share. This is allegedly from Housekeeping Monthly, 13 May, 1955, though it’s integrity has been disputed. In any case, it makes for an interesting read. Thoughts? I’m sort of getting bored of all my secrecy. I’m preeeeeetty positive that everyone that reads my blog knows who I am, or at least isn’t some horribly scary stalker man (or woman, I’m all for gender equality). It also seems rather pretentious of me, as I am assuming that my writing is interesting enough to warrant someone’s devoted obsession. When I started my blog a few months ago the prospect of strangers reading my blog seemed excitingly dangerous, and the possibility of crazies coming after me seemed much higher, especially after watching Peyton’s situation on One Tree Hill (if you haven’t seen it, you MUST). But really, I don’t…

At a Loss for Words*
This week I have been so… uninspired to write. Perhaps it’s because there hasn’t been anything terribly exciting going on in my life–now that summer is in full swing everyone I know has gone home for the summer, so it’s just the hubs and I! And the hubs leaves for work at the university after lunch, and is gone until around 10pm every evening. So all of a sudden, I find I have all this free time on my hands. I went a little crazy the first week or so… but now I’m actually finding that I enjoy some time on my own. I’m doing my homework, going for walks,…

Marigolds – Part 2*
My little lovelies are coming along beautifully! I’m so excited…. I was a little worried that I’d kill them when I transferred them into their new (and totally cute) flowerpot. BUT, they persevered and are now bigger than ever!! Shop Girl*
