Our Story

Chapter One* (Love At First Sight)

This entry is part [part not set] of 1 in the series Our Story
  • Chapter One* (Love At First Sight)

This is the story of how M and I met, fell in love, and were married within 8 months…

…and lived happily ever after*

Over the past few weeks I’ve had a number of people ask me about “our story”. By that I mean how M and I met, got engaged and were married in 8 months. :) It’s not something that I’ve ever written about in any detail, I don’t think I’ve ever recorded our engagement story on paper. So. After much ado and after some persuasion, I give you… our story.

M actually noticed me first. In October of 2004 I was living in Toronto and was loving being away from home for the first time. :) I was dating all kinds of people and was out with friends all the time. A couple of weeks before Halloween I went to Walmart in search of a costume with Bo Bandy (I believe) and found a FABULOUS lady bug costume in the kids section for $5. I was soooooooo poor but I bought the costume… and I’m glad it did because it made him notice me! I went to a YSA Halloween dance with the other love of my life– Telly. M tells this part of the story much better… but essentially, he was standing near the door when Telly and I came running into the room. Now, when Telly and I get together my inner-crazy gets unleashed and we have a freaking riot. We dance like crazies (for example, we do: the brown squirrel, the banana dance, the cowboy dance, snow angels… to name a few) and we tended to intimidate a few people because we were a little… extroverted. haha

Anyway, he saw me and was intrigued.. from that time until we actually met 2 months later he called me “The Lady Bug Girl”. We didn’t actually speak that night, but we both spotted each other. I don’t think he believes me, but I also noticed him that night. I can even place where he was standing in the room and what he was wearing. ;) I don’t really know why I didn’t talk to him that night– back then I was so outgoing I talked to pretty much anyone and everyone! He was different though… he was so good looking that it intimidated me, and his whole attitude and demeanor was so… aloof. It was hot. So, Telly and I stuck together and danced the night away. It was a couple of weeks before we crossed paths again…
