New Day*

Well, Monday was a crappy day. After I wrote that post I had a good cry and the Hubs held me and talked me through my stress-I-hate-school-cry and watched a movie with me until I was too tired to even stay awake anymore. Have I mentioned how much I adore my husband?

Yesterday was much better. I decided to break from the ordinary and spend a day OFF campus. It was wonderful. I also started my first day teaching again. I met with my principal yesterday at 1pm to discuss my new teaching position and am SO happy to report that I actually got matched with the teacher I was hoping for! I worked with her somewhat last year as I had some of her students in my literacy groups, but as I was teaching a separate curriculum I didn’t get a chance to get to know her very well. So, now I’ll be in the classroom with her 2 mornings a week and it’s fabulous. :)

I’ve also been trying very hard to stick to my “Florida-diet” (even though we’re no longer going to Florida, I’ve decided to call it that anyway) and jumped on the scale yesterday and I’ve lost 2 pounds! It doesn’t sound like much.. but it’s a step in the right direction. I’ve tried to cut out most of the artificial sugars I had been eating and replace them with water, fruit and vegetables. For example, I’m no longer eating (or have drastically reduced intake) of: juice, pop, baked goods, candy, etc. I’ve been loving kiwis, blueberries, apples and pears right now. I actually feel better as well, so it’s a bonus.

The only thing that has not been better since Monday is the weather. It has been hovering somewhere around -20°C (-4°F) with a nasty wind chill and it has not been pleasant to be outside. I keep hoping that it will warm up a bit… but the snow keeps coming and the cold keeps staying. Oh summer, I miss thee.

Lastly… I’m on day 4 of my facebook-free week. I decided to take another break because I have a busy week… and I actually am not really missing it. It’s SUCH an addictive waste of time… and as you can see, I blog more when I don’t have facebook to occupy my precious procrastination time. If it wasn’t so good for keeping in touch with people I’d delete it. *sigh* I just need to be better at not staying on it for horrendous amounts of time.

Anyway, I just wanted to post something a little cheerier after my ‘I-hate-the-world’ post the other day. Life is good again.
