Music for the Soul*
I don’t often post a lot of “churchy” stuff (unless it’s a funny story that must be shared) as I guess I feel like my beliefs are my own and I don’t want to push anything on anyone. Besides, that’s not really what my little blog is all about. However, tonight there is something I absolutely must share. I love music. I love music to the core of my being… I listen to everything. I love everything from rock to hip hop, from dance to opera, from classical to indie. I have a little bit of everything in my itunes–there isn’t really one band or artist that dominates my play…

Personal Space Invasions*
This year I got the best Easter present ever. It certainly wasn’t your traditional solid milk chocolate bunny that I am trying to convince myself I am not missing terribly, nor was it really tangible in any form. This year my gift was an introduction to my new favourite thing: Howie Do It. I’m not sure how I ever lived a complete and full life before Howie Mandel and Vic Cohen, but oh, oh, OH my friends, life is so good now. I have not laughed as hard as I did this afternoon in… well, at least a day. haha! (I like to laugh, so sue me… haha) There are…

Sweet Moves*
I love things that make me laugh. I’m not just talking about a little snicker here, I’m talking about an honest-to-goodness genuine laugh which, for me, is usually accompanied by tears. I’m a laugh-crier. When I laugh really hard tears rolls down my face. It’s lovely. haha Anyway. I love things that make me laugh like that. Two days ago, I was sent a link to a video which made me laugh so hard I thought I might die. It’s probably funnier for me as he looks like he belongs in my family and reminds me of my littlest brother, but it’s still glorious. Watch and love. I want moves…

Scary Mary*
I was just chatting about old movies with a friend of mine (who happens to hate Mary Poppins whilst I adore her… seriously, it’s possible to hate Mary?!) and I remembered a clip someone once sent me… so I thought I’d share. It’s a “recut” trailor for Mary Poppins, and it blows my mind every. single. time. It’s amazing what you can do with a bit of editing and new music. Shop Girl*

Bill Nye*
For the most part, I don’t enjoy lesson planning. I love teaching, but I don’t like the prepping part. It’s long, boring and tedious and usually not fun. Usually. I have been teaching a unit on climate in Geography–a subject I have not taken since I was in grade 9. It has been a big challenge for me as I am learning as I teach and most days I feel like I’m only staying about 5 minutes ahead of my kids. So, I have been leaning on external sources to increase my own knowledge and supplement my lessons. Tonight I rediscovered Bill Nye… and fell in love all over again.…
