Résumé Ridiculousness*
Sweet mother of pearl, today was so long.
I left for school at 9am, and didn’t get home until nearly 8pm. I am tiiiiired. I don’t start class until 1pm on Thursdays, but one of the heads of the program was offering a résumé writing workshop this morning. I had absolutely no intention of going until late last night when the Hubster suggested it might be useful, so I stayed up until 1am making a draft of an education résumé, then woke up at 7am to get ready to go. Surprisingly the workshop wasn’t a total waste this time–they offered a similar one in October where they told us nothing–I did get a sweet cover letter out of the deal this morning though.
I have also decided that I loathe the whole résumé process. After comparing the draft I made last night to the template she showed us today, I am apparently TERRIBLE at selling myself. I always feel so arrogant when I write résumés, and even then I don’t come off “strong” enough. *sigh* Anyone wanna write it for me? haha
Tonight my English class was in a computer lab as we sat through a presentation about how we can use various forms of technology in the classroom. The presentation was fairly useless–I’m pretty sure that my professors have given up on preparing real lessons as there are only 3 weeks of class left. YAY! However, the presentation did give me lots of time to surf the net and get caught up on the news.
Over the past several days I have been trying to follow and understand the current situation in gaza. My friend K has done a much better job of staying connected and following the conflict on her blog than I have, but I was happy to see that the UN Security Council called for a ceasefire today. I read that attacks have been made on the relief convoys, so the UN has ceased deliveries of aid until conditions improve. I know this is just my simple take on a massive conflict, but I was hope this conflict ends soon. What I have read on the news is simply horrific.
I’m exhausted and have another day at school tomorrow, so I think I’m going to leave it at that for now… I hope you all have had a lovely day and have another tomorrow. :)
