Our Story

Chapter Thirteen* Be Mine?

I know that some of you have been patiently waiting a WHOLE WEEK for the next chapter of our story, and I’m so sorry that’s been such a big gap. I can attest that this week has been really busy for me and my new project is eating up a bunch of my free time! But without further ado…

…this is the story of how the Hubster and I met, fell in love and got married within 8 months…

…and lived happily ever after*

The next week together flew by. The night after I wrote my ‘classic journal entry‘ (as the Hubs calls it) he came out to visit me late after work. Things were now better than ever… it became harder and harder to say good bye each time he left, and we kept making excuses to see each other as often as we could. We were a little limited in that I didn’t have a car and he was working crazy hours at his job. We often had what we called “Midnight Visits” after he finished work, and even if we could only be together for an hour or two it was completely worth it. :)

Our next “date” has always been one of my favourites. As I had never been to IKEA before, he decided it might be fun to go look around without thinking about how someone else could misconstrue our little outing. You know… furniture shopping together can appear as though you’re pretty serious with each other. In all honesty, I don’t even know if we had had a “DTR Moment” at that point in time, we just loved being together.

Anyway… so he picked me up and drove me to IKEA and we planned our future house(s). haha! By no means were we talking about getting married / moving in together (yet) but it was fun to talk about what we’d love to have in a house. We wandered around the store forever… trying out living room sets, kitchen appliances, etc etc. It was glorious.

This visit spawned many more Ikea trips, usually with Too Kool and Erock. They always took fun pictures. I shall share:

Erock and the Hubster decided it was time to eat.

Then the Hubster needed to use the restroom.

…and then he got tired.

Austin Powers, anyone?
HUBBLE HUBBLE DING DING!

Too Kool demonstrating “Le Tigre”

Who knew that IKEA could be so fun?

I was going to write about our first Valentine’s Day together in this post (hence the title)… but I think I’ll wait. :) And just for the record, the “I Love You” post is so close I can TASTE it. Be excited.
