Pretty Toes*
It’s almost 10pm.
I have basically been on the go non-stop since I rolled out of bed this morning, and I missed my usual afternoon writing time because I was at… (*cue drumroll*)
…a spa. M gave me a gift certificate to have a lovely lovely pedicure done at this beautiful spa here in town and I finally made time to use it today. I was pampered and my toes are pretty and I like it.
The rest of the day was a blur of cutting the lawn, dishes, 800 loads of laundry (not an exaggeration at all), picking paint colours, running errands, changing sheets and folding laundry. Tonight I’ve been glued to my computer trying to get my lesson for church ready for tomorrow, and I just finished now. At 10pm.
It was oh, so tempting to gently close my laptop lid and walk up the bed to my beautiful, welcoming bed…
…but then I remembered that it’s buried under a pile of laundry and writing seemed way more appealing than dealing with that.
Even though they are exhausting and so busy, I really do love days like today. It’s the kind of day when I can reflect back in the evening and really feel like I accomplished something. My lawn is beautifully cut and we no longer look homeless, and we are finally beginning the process of redoing and painting our bedroom. It’s basically the only room left in our home that we’ve never touched, and I’m SO EXCITED to finally make it over. There were just so many other priority projects in our home that it’s always been on the back burner, but it’s finally time to give it a face lift. I basically picked up all of the paint swatches from Sherwin Williams to put on my wall because I am the worst at choosing paint.
Seriously. SO much anxiety.
But I know I’ll love it once it’s done. So for now, I’m focusing on that.
Today is day seven of my writing challenge, and I’m happy to report that I am still on track! You’re probably sick of being spammed with all my posts, but I’m on a roll here. And I’m going to keep… rolling. Or something.
I think it’s time to take my pretty toes to bed. Maybe I’ll just slide in under the laundry.
Totally normal, right?
