Strawberry Shop Girl*
And not only do I have a job–I have the BEST job. I wasn’t sure if I would / wanted to work this summer… I was so completely burnt out when school ended in April that I needed a break in every sense of the word. Note to self: never ever ever try and work 2 jobs, go to school full time while volunteering several hours a week EVER again.
That’s not to say that I didn’t apply for some… between April and May I probably applied to 25 – 30 places for a summer job. However, Senior’s City is apparently the most difficult city in the world to find a job in. Like many of my friends, I remained unemployed (and secretly enjoyed my break haha).
However, Lilac Dreamer decided to spoil my summer plans of reading glorious books by offering me the best job in the world… which inadvertently includes the reading of glorious books. I am a strawberry girl. :) I work at farmer’s markets 2 mornings a week, and I sell strawberries at a roadside stand on the other days. Which means that I get paid to sit in the sun and read books. Did I mention that I have the best job ever? Someone wants to PAY me to get a tan and read books? Yes please. haha!
So, this summer just got 100% better. People who shop at markets are friendly. And cheerful. And happy to be there. It’s glorrrrrrrious!
Obviously, now that I am Strawberry Shop Girl, the Hubster has began making new names for me including the word ‘strawberry’. My current favourite is Strawbelly: after eating massive amounts of fresh strawberries one acquires a “strawbelly”.
