Hot Water? What Hot Water?
So. I’ve decided that my absolutely faaaaaaavourite thing to do in the morning is wake up to no hot water. Really. It’s wonnnnderful. Especially on Sundays, which is the only day of the week that we actually have to be awake, showered and dressed by 9am. Every other day of the week the earliest we need to leave is noon, so it’s nice when the hot water is turned off the morning we actually need it. Bah. I’m going to keep track of how many times we lose it this summer.
Anyway, church was actually pretty nice today! Testimony meeting was nice, and we skipped story hour in Relief Society because the teacher had laryngitis and could barley talked, so we watched a really nice film. It was good! I had to stay late while the hubs did his calling (he’s assistant financial clerk) and I had a riveting discussion with a few people about the decline in literacy in children while I waited. It was awesome.
I thought a lot about my Gumpo yesterday. Yesterday marked the 5th year anniversary of his death, and I guess I still really miss him a lot more than I let on. I keep a framed photograph of him on my piano so I can feel like he’s never really that far away. I can’t believe it’s been 5 years–I remember every second of that night/day as vividly as it was yesterday. I just miss him a lot… we were pretty close.
Other than that, it’s been a quiet weekend. We had the missionaries over for dinner last night and had plenty of entertainment from our drunken neighbours out on their patio downstairs. It was pretty hilarious actually! We have a really good pair right now– they’re lots of fun and they seem like they are pretty hard workers. They helped the hubs put in our air conditioners so that I can fiiiiiinally get the balcony cleaned up, and I am very excited about that. I love reading out there in the summer.
Well, I think that’s everything. We’re going to have dinner with a gentleman from our ward tonight so I think that will be fun! I hope you’re having a glorious Sabbath day! :)
