My thoughts*

It’s Wednesday or Something*

I’m so tired.

I’m still pretty congested and as much as I’m trying to pretend I’m totally fine, I’m more run down than I think I am. I cleaned my oven yesterday and I was basically done for the day after I finished.

(If I’m being totally honest, cleaning my oven usually equates being done for the day because it is the WORST JOB EVER.)

I haven’t been sleeping well because I’m congested, and I haven’t been resting in the afternoons because I’ve had H home for the last three days. He’s much better today and will be back at school tomorrow, just in time for me to head back to work. Today was my day to get all the things done, but I feel a bit like I’m moving in slow motion.

Actually, I feel a bit like a bobble head. All my congestion is in my face and it’s making my head have a weird detached feeling.

But, such is life and I have to keep on keepin’ on. Today I ran errands, washed my kitchen floor, replaced the pads on all my kitchen chair legs, went to the dentist, cleaned both bathrooms, folded three baskets of laundry, vacuumed and pushed forward with our great fall reno of 2018. We’re working on clearing out our bedroom so we can start work in there, and it’s been a bit of a process. We’ve moved all the furniture out (except our bed and end tables–that’s tomorrow) and tonight we worked on emptying our closet. I filled another huge garbage bag to donate, and lost track of the number of trips to the basement I made with our stuff. It’s going to be a bit of a pain living in a mess for a couple of weeks, but it will be worth it in the end. It was well after 9pm before I remembered that I hadn’t posted yet, so, here I am. I still have to go make lunches and clean the kitchen before bed, but for now I’m pretending it’s all done and am enjoying a moment of quiet in my clean living room.

Reading that, I feel better about being tired. Today was busier than I remembered… and going to the dentist freaks me out so I’m sure I stressed myself into exhaustion before I even got there. I really like my dentist, but I had a bad experience with my previous one. He didn’t freeze my mouth enough before filling a cavity and I felt the drill. So, I go dutifully, but it’s not my favourite. Thankfully it was just a cleaning today and my teeth are in tip top shape. Win!

Okay. Time to make lunches so I can drag my tired body into bed.

This working thing is a lot of work.
