    The Daffodil Principle*

I have had the craziest week. Work is picking up again, I had several assignments due last night, and tonight we hosted a big activity for the youth program I am involved in. I tend to get very focused and stressed when I have a billion things to do in a short amount of time, and this week has been no exception. I had to speak at the activity tonight, and for days I’ve been trying to put together what I would say. Everything was based around accomplishments, setting goals and having learning experiences, and I wanted to find the right words to get out what I wanted to say.…

    Mario Kart Magic*

I would never call myself a “gamer”, but I’ve always kind of liked simple video games. I’m a monopoly addict on my blackberry, and I went through an obsessive Plants vs. Zombies phase over the Christmas holidays and throughout most of January. The Hubster has an Xbox 360 and has tried to interest me in games for that, but Feeding Frenzy is about the extent of my skill. It’s an identity. There are strong names, fun names, weird names, cool names, what-on-earth-were-they-thinking names (I believe Dick Assman fits into this category…), beautiful names, old names, blended names, and so many more. Confession: I have a bit of an obsession with names. I already have several names picked out for our future children, and one name came to me in a…

    Lil’ P-Nut*

Okay. I may be a bit behind on this one, but I recently saw this video and fell in love with this kid. Lil’ P-Nut is a 7 year old rapper with the best stage presence and manners I’ve ever seen. The video is absolutely hysterical, and this kid will steal your heart in about 5 seconds. LOVE. This kid is seven. I am so impressed right now that it’s not even funny. I thought I was cool when I wrote my first “book” around the same age… and it was a collection of stick drawings and one word captions. I didn’t get on Ellen. Pffft. I am also in…
