My thoughts*

Two Years of Wedded Bliss*

Yesterday the Hubs and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary!! (actually, we couldn’t wait and celebrated 2 days early by spending a GLORIOUS day out of the boonies shopping downtown Toronto).

Seeing as there is only fake shopping in our city (Fake Shopping: the appearance of malls, but no stores of any substance within it’s walls. Fake fake fake) we decided to jump on the Go Train and head into the big city. We also decided to be extra adventurous and walk everywhere. For those of you who know the layout of Toronto, you’ll appreciate the amount of walking we did.

We started off at Union Station and walked up Bay to the Eaton Centre where we did lots of lovely REAL shopping. I’ve also come to the conclusion that H&M is my new favourite store. I bought the most fun hats (see picture) and some wicked earrings. I’m into accessories these days. We had a lovely Japanese / Chinese meal in the mall before taking another stroll down Yonge to Mountain Equipment Co-op. It’s one of the Hub’s favourite stores so we spent a little while in there while I talked him out of buying a Kayak (where on earth would we put it? haha).

Well, from there we tried calling Doodle as he lives downtown and I don’t get to see him often, so we started walking back up Yonge to Dundas Square. On the way we stopped at the World’s Biggest Bookstore (I’ve decided I prefer Chapters) and took a look as neither of us have ever seen it. Then we continued on and there was some kind of Islamic Festival going on with TONS of people milling about, so we sat and watched that for a while and listened to the band that was playing. We finally got a hold of Doodle, and agreed to meet him at Bloor and Yonge. So, we trudged on (we were starting to get tired by this point) and met Doodle and continued from there into Yorkville where we sat on a big rock and visited for a while. Doodle wanted to go out for dinner, but we were pretty wiped by then so we jumped on the Subway and began our trek home.

All in all, it was a perfect day. I don’t know how else to describe it. We got a break from our little city and spent an entire day together. I can’t believe it’s already been 2 years… I really don’t know where the time has gone. But I DO know that it’s been a fabulous 2 years. Glorious, in fact. I married good’un.

Hubs, I love you. Thanks for being you and loving me. xox
