    Hug Coupons*

    Today while on the bus in my ever so slightly crazy city I happened to overhear a conversation going on between an older man and a high school student. The man was quizzing this girl all about what kids were really like now– if they take drugs and alcohol into the schools, and he counseled her to stay far away from it. At first I was taken aback as this was a complete stranger giving advice to a young girl and it seemed inappropriate as it was very obvious that they did not know each other. But then at the same time I thought, why is it inappropriate for an…

    I have a love/hate relationship with PostSecret. The very first time someone sent me the link I was horrified because I didn’t really understand what I was reading. Job Interview*

    I can’t remember if I wrote about my applying for jobs while I was up in the Great White North, but I did. I spent an exciting Saturday night applying for summer jobs because I was too afraid to go outside in the -35 degree weather. Well, I heard back from one today and I have an interview on Thursday!! I saw some positions open with the Catholic School Board here and I threw in a resume, and they actually called me today! I have an interview to be a tutor–it pays well and it would be great experience for my teacher’s college applications which are looming next October. I’m…

    Sleep Talk* [146.0]

    Well, I’m down another half pound… and although I’m pretty positive it’s probably just natural weight fluctuation, it is encouraging to at least see the numbers declining, regardless of how slowly. The Hubster sometimes talks in his sleep… and I LOVE it. Most of the time it’s incoherent mumbling, but every so often I’ll be awake enough to catch a real gem!! One time he yelled out “I DON’T KNOW HOW IT WORKS!!!” and startled me, but once I realized he was still sleeping I fell in love all the more. haha! Last night was amazing… I woke up for a bathroom break sometime around 3:00am, and as I came…

    Conference = Success*

    I’ve had so much on my plate the past little while I doubt that I even wrote that I was involved with organizing a conference at the university this weekend. The organization I co-chair holds an annual conference, and this year my responsibility was to handle the catering of the luncheon for the conference attendees, and the dinner for all those involved. It was a good experience for me– I’ve never worked with caterers before, and I had to make sure there was enough food for 60-80 people. All in all, it went well. Apparently attendance wasn’t quite as high as last year, but there were several other functions going…
